A local children's advocacy organization was cashing in on all those back-to-school haircuts, Saturday.

Benefiting the Tom Green Child Welfare Board, a "Cut-A-Thon" was hosted at the beauty parlor on Van Buren. Salon employees offered haircuts, at reduced rates, and donated all the money raised back to the board.

According to the Welfare Board, nearly 400 children are in some type of CPS care; the board works to meet the needs of these children.
