Jeff: "As we close out our 2014 Football Match-ups to watch we saved our farthest road trip for last. The Christoval Cougars will spend over six hours on a bus covering 427 miles to face the Anthony Wildcats to close out district 3-2A play. The Cougars are returning seven starters on both offense and defense from a 2013 team that went 8-1 before being knocked out in the bi-district round of the playoffs. Anthony who had been playing up two classification sizes over the past two seasons is estatic to be in a district with similar enrollment numbers. The Wildcats did not win a district game and were 1-9 in 2013. Anthony returns five starters on offense who now may be comfortable with second year head coach Mike Stephenson's system. The Cougars traveling over six hours to claw it out with the Wildcats is your week 11 match-up to watch. Here is a look at all of our match-ups to watch for 2014. Week 1 Bronte will line up six-man style to play Robert Lee. Week four features a double header at San Angelo Stadium when Greenwood takes on Lake View and Frenship will battle Central. Week eight in Sonora as the Broncos host the Crane Golden Cranes in a game that should impact playoff paths. And the week 11 match-up you just saw. Jeff Corean, KSAN, San Angelo Sports channel."
