The Coke Country Rivalry between Bronte and Robert Lee will be renewed on Friday August 29th. Yes you heard right, a six man team will play an 11 man team. Robert Lee began playing Six Man football in 2004 while Bronte has remained 11 man, so they haven't played since 2003. The arrangement calls for Bronte to play six man style in Robert Lee this season while the Steers will play 11 man next year in Bronte. This fun deal came about with administrators from the schools discussing ways to renew the rivalry, one that has been even over the years. Bronte and Robert Lee each won two games in the last four played. So if you're looking for a unique ball game, the season opener on Friday August 29th in Robert Lee will be your place as the Coke County Rivalry is renewed after a decade hiatus.
