Central Football Report 11-19-13

The Area round of the class 5A playoffs will feature the Central Bobcats for the third time in the past four seasons. In that span the Bobcats haven't yet won the Area round game, each time facing off against a Metro-Plex team. This year it's another one for Central to deal with.

Landon Sawyer: "It brings some big challenges because every week the team gets better, it means you have to practice harder, you have to focus more, you have to focus on every rep. Like I said it just gets harder every week."

Randy Ward: "This week that team on the other sideline will be Keller Fossil Ridge and to beat them the Bobcats know their preparation is critical."

Jacob Berg: "We're going to be watching a lot more film. Then at practice a lot more rushing to the ball. Just a better mindset coming into this game since it's a better team."

Sawyer: "We've also been told they're ball keys and they're fast to the ball. So we have to take good angels on our blocking and we have to run good routes to get open."

Ward: "One thing that is on the Bobcats side is they have playing experience. Coach Brent Davis feel like that will be a key factor in his team staying focused on the task at hand."

Brent Davis: "We've got a good football team, we're sitting here 10 and 1, feel like we can play with anybody in the state of Texas and we're going to show up Saturday with that kind of attitude."
