Matt joined the KSAN news team as the chief meteorologist in September 2011. His professional exploits have taken him from the Northeast where he was a weather broadcaster for AccuWeather in State College, PA, to the Midwest in Evansville, IN, to the hot and humid Rio Grande Valley near McAllen and Brownsville.
Raised in Pennsylvania since the age of 3, the Blizzard of '93 is what caught Matt's interest in weather. He was still in elementary school and can remember the snow coming up to his chest with snow drifts more than 10 feet high! After high school, Matt attended Penn State University where he received his B.S. in Meteorology.
Matt won the EMMA for "Best Weather Anchor" from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Lone Star Chapter in 2014 after receiving honorable mention for the award the previous year.
When Matt isn't tracking storms or checking to see if temperatures will hit 100 degrees anytime soon, he loves spending time with his wife, son and daughter. Matt is also an avid fantasy baseball and football fan, and enjoys playing Starcraft 2, a real-time strategy game for the computer that he equates to chess without needing to wait to take your turn.
